In my 21 Day Entrepreneur Challenge, Day #15’s assignment was to write down previous or current mentors, and choose one to make contact with to let them know you consider them a mentor.
Deacon, I chose you. You were inspirational to me as a young teenager growing up in LA. I remember when you mentored me on how to study God’s word to prepare to bring His message to His people. I remember you teaching me about prayer and discernment. I remember you teaching me how to break down the scriptures and study them in sections. I remember you teaching me how to meditate and be comfortable with speaking in front of large groups. I remember you telling me the more I studied and prepared, the more comfortable I would be.
All of that came to fruition for me for that event. But more importantly, that was the start of my walk. Now, I love when God gives me the opportunity to bring His word to His people.
This was something that happened to me over 40 years ago, yet I remember it as it were yesterday. You have been a blessing on my life, and I truly appreciate you, your love, your patience with me, your teaching, your leadership. At a time in my life when I am sure I was a very difficult young male teenager, you believed in me. You have and will always hold a special place in my heart. You were my very first Mentor, and I will never forget you.
Thank you for letting God use you then and let Him continue to use you. May God continue to bless you and Sherry, and may He bless you abundantly.
